Erin Condren and Catch Up

It saddens me to say that I stopped my instax photo a day challenge at the end of July. I found that I was just too busy and occupied by my study that I couldn't find anything else to take an interesting photo of each day anymore. In saying that I am proud of myself because I successfully completed the challenge for 7 months.

Moving on...
I want to start by saying that I have not been paid in any way to write this post and it is all my own thoughts and opinions.
There will be a link at the end of this post.

My Erin Condren life planner arrived today! I ordered it on the 20th of August and have I been impatiently waiting for it since. The planner did ship on the day that Erin condren estimated (11th September) which was great. Erin Condren are very good with estimating the correct shipping date.

This is the first Erin Condren that I have ever bought or owned and although it only arrived today I'm falling in love with it.

The life planner arrived in this beautiful box wrapped nicely in bubble wrap and beautifully coloured tissue paper.

Along with the planner, there was also a catalogue which included a $15 coupon, some beautiful quote stickers and some gift labels which were all free gifts from erin condren which, I believe, come with all orders. It was so nice to have some little extras inside the package.

This is the planner that I ordered. Isn't it beautiful?! The main thing about Erin condren products is that they're customisable. This cover is the Platinum foil edition in turquoise and I had it customised with my name on the front. This planner is one of the most expensive choices because of the foil in the cover and it was $65. I paid $70 for this one because I wanted to have the remaining months of 2014 as well as all the 2015 months. There are a heap of different designs avaliable and most if them are very customisable.

These are the calendar and diary pages that you will use for your planning. The calendar pages have nice sized squares that I feel could fit in at least a couple events each day.
The diary/ planning pages are what I really love about this planner. The weeks got from Monday to Sunday and are set out vertically. Each day is divided into 3 sections (morning, day and night). I've read that some people like to ignore these headings or cover them and use the sections for different things (eg, home, work, study) but I find that the morning, day and night sections work perfectly for me. There is also a small column at the left hand side for weekly goals and notes.

After all the monthly sections is the notes section. There are both lined and unlined pages in the notes section so it could be used for any kind of notes or drawings.

After the notes section comes some pre-made sickers that say things like; birthday, appointment, party and vacation.
After the stickers is the keep it together folder. The folder is double sides and comes with the perpetual calendar in one side. You can use this to store notes and I keep some of my sticker sheets in there.
At the very back of the planner is a clear zip-lock pouch. I love this! I'm keeping crafty things in it as well as some coupons I have.

You can see in some of the photos that there is a pen holder attached to the back cover of the planner. This was an accessory that I bought separately. You can also customise stickers to use in your planner as well. There is an accessory called coil clips which I was tempted to add to my order but wasn't sure if I would have a use for them. They are clips that you stick to invitations or anything you want to add to your planner and they clip into the planners binding coil, they're pretty cool but I've seen that some people have made their own.

If you're interested in signing up for erin condren and placing an order I'm adding my referral link below. When you sign up using my link you will receive a $10 coupon to use on your first order and I will also receive a $10 coupon. We both win! But you don't need to use my link you can just sign up on their site if you'd like :)

Best instax this week: week 10, 11 and 12

Wow I have been so busy lately. I've been trying to get prepared for my diploma course and it's ridiculously difficult. Now I've finally got some time to sit down and show you the best instax from weeks 10, 11 and 12 of my 2014 instax photo a day project.

So here they are:

Special mentions go to the third photo along the top which was taken at the hunter valley gardens. I've never been to a place that beautiful before. Also, the bottom left photo is of a project life spread I did. I absolutely love project life. I'll do a post about it soon to share the awesomeness that project life is.

What do you think?

PROJECT UPDATE:
Lately I've found that I am struggling a little with my project. This is mainly because I spend majority of my time working on my diploma assessment. But I do still take a photo every day only most if them are of plants around my house which can get a little boring. I need to make some time to get out and take interesting photos every day.

Best Instax this week: week 9

Here are my best instax photos from week 9 of 2014. If you're new to my blog then you should know that I do this post once a week. They're photos from my 365 project using only my instax mini cameras. You can check them out here. The photos I choose are not always great photos but they represent a day that I enjoyed.

So here is the first one. It's my project like album and core kit arriving! I only just learnt about project life recently and I love the idea. I'll be working on a post about it soon. I just love the colours and patterns!

The second photo is of apple pie. Simple. It represents a night that my entire family got together and had apple pie. We rarely have time together as a family anymore so it's nice.

This photo is so blurry and really not a great photo but it had to be included. I went putt putt golfing. It was so much fun! And I haven't done it in years so it was just great. It made me ridiculously happy.

Recent obsession: filofax (planning)

Ok I think it's time that I admit that I am not the most organised person. I forget things all the time because I have so many thoughts of things going through my mind that some things just get pushed to the side.

So when I saw an instagram photo showing a planner that was so beautifully decorated I just had to know what it was. I soon discovered it was a filofax and searched the hashtag only to find more amazing photos of decorated planner pages in ring bound planners. It was as that point I wanted one.

I googled some information about them and found that because they are ring bound they can be customised and used for years just by replacing the pages. It was soon after this that my dreams of holding one of these came crashing down. Looking at the prices of these planners I just couldn't afford to buy it at the time (at the time being the key words. I still lust after one).

A couple weeks ago whilst looking at craft supplies for my instax book at my local target the thought crossed my mind to look for a planner and I found this jem. It's not a filofax but I love it all the same. Don't you just love that pattern? And it only cost me $12!! What a bargain!

I took to customising it from the moment I got I home. Making dividers and tabs for the sections I wanted to include. In it I have my weekly diary pages, my monthly calendar pages, my notes, my expenses and my fitness information. I got the idea for the beautiful ombré tabs from the wonderful girl at xo-lovelee who has a beautiful kikki k planner with mint ombré tabs at the moment. Check it out.

It didn't take long for my craft supplies to become mainly used in my filofax (and my instax book, of course). And they're all kept in a cute little drawer. I forgot to include my cute little label maker and label tapes in the photo).

This has made it fun for me to organise my days and is helping me in organising my whole life. It's really something that I like to do at the end of the day.

Do you have a filofax or other planner? Do you decorate the pages?

Best instax photos this week: week 8

I've been a little absent lately because I have been really busy and I apologise. I got some exciting stuff in the mail yesterday and I will write a post about it soon.

Ok so let's get into my best instax photos from this week.

The first is from Tuesday and is a photo of a mushroom growing in my lawn. I think it's just so cute that there is a little mushroom poking its head up out of the beautiful green lawn.

The second photo is of a branch with a storm in the background. This branch is off a tree I planted when I was very young and it is now a rather large sized tree. It was so nice to have a storm come over and cool things down a bit here.

The third photo is of a huge piece of watermelon, obviously. It was hot again that day and it was nice to sit in the shade and eat some cold watermelon.

What did you think of the best photos this week?

Best instax photos this week : week 7

With instax photos (just like another photos you take)there are always some that are great and some that are not so great (or down right horrible which is sometimes the case with my photos). So I have decided to share the best instax photos I have taken every week. Although I would like to catch up on the weeks that I didn't blog I'm just too busy to do so at the moment so I'll be starting at week 7. Maybe one day I will catch up :)

The best photos this week are from Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. They all all taken around my house because I didn't go anywhere exciting last week. Just home and work for me.

The first is a photo of the clouds. Yay clouds! We have been in a drought here and it has been so extremely hot. It's so good to see some dark thick clouds coming. Also is it just me or does that cloud look like an angry bird?

The second photo is of the valentines day cupcakes I made. They're just so adorable that you have to love them. If only I had photographed the inside of them with my instax (when you bite into them they have pink love hearts baked in).

The third photo is of my cat, Jerry. He's old, 13 years old to be exact. I love him to pieces. This photo is of him laying on our beautiful green (wet) lawn. He was there all morning even when it was raining. He's a strange one but he's my strange one.

I hope you enjoyed a glimps into my instax week :) make sure to check out next weeks best instax photos.

My instax wall

Because I have so many Instax cameras I found myself to have a lot of Instax photos in stacks around my room. I put some of them in albums but it still left a lot of photos. So I took to the internet in search of something to do with them all. There are a lot of people with a lot of cute ideas for what you can do with instax photo. Finally I came across something that I absolutely adored on the blog is found. You can find it here (http://www.theblogisfound.com/index.cfm?postID=535).

These amazing people put there instax mini photos above their mantle in the shape of a love heart and it's absolutely gorgeous. So I decided to do the same on my bedroom wall.

This is how it started out:

And now it looks like this:

I still have more photos to add but I don't think they will fit in the heart shape anymore so I may just start filling in the wall.

How do you display your instax photos?

My Instax book

Finally I have found the book to stick my 2014 instax a day photos in.

Yay yay yay yay yay yay

Ever since the first of January I have been searching the shops and my own collection of notebooks for the perfect one for my Instax photos. I have some lovely empty notebooks already in my possession that didn't have enough pages to hold all 365 photos.

Well here it is. Simple and gorgeous.

Blue is my favourite colour and this book just feels amazing. And that elastic strap will help hold it all closed when it's full of photos.

I have only just started to stick my photos in and I will write information about each once I stick all my photos in. I just love it!

Do you like it? How do you store your instax photos?

Recent Obsession: Washi Tape

Surely I'm not the only person who only recently found out that washi tape existed, right??

I wish I had discovered washi tape years ago. This stuff is amazing. Sure it's tape, but it's not just any tape. It's colourful! It's patterned! It's so good for crafts!

Just a quick google search will show you just how many different colours and patterns are avaliable and some places even sell small sample rolls of washi tape. Look at the sweet little collection I have.

Ever since I discovered it two weeks ago I have been using it in my journal and for sticking my instax photos in my book. I can't justify spending so much money on a filofax journal but I decorate my cheap 2014 diary just the same and it has the same effect. I enjoy looking at the beautiful pages I've done with washi tape.

You can do so much with this tape. I have decorated some of the furniture by adding strips and it looks quite good if I do say so myself. Now my plain white shelf which houses my cameras is purple and interesting.

I can't wait to find some other cute uses for these little rolls of awesome.

Do you have any washi tape? If you know of any uses for washi tape please share them in the

My Instax cameras

It's no secret that I adore my Instax cameras. I just think they're amazing. No matter how many times I see a little print pop out of the top of one of my cameras I still find it exciting. So I'd like to introduce you to my Instax family.

My journey into Instax cameras started at the beginning of 2010 when my very first Instax camera arrived at my door. That camera was the Instax 210. At the time I didn't know that it would become an obsession.

This is the only Instax wide camera I own but I love it to pieces. A lot of people can not see past the fact that it's huge and when I say huge I mean ginormous! It's like the hulk of cameras. It's BIG. But it needs to be big because it prints out wide Instax photos which are double the size of the Instax Mini cameras. The size of the photos are Great and the colours are amazing. It came with a close up lens which has a mirror attached to it perfect for taking selfies hehe.

The next Instax I bought was an Instax Mini 25 late 2012 because I sometimes found that taking my 210 was a bit difficult because of its size. There a quite a few Instax mini cameras avaliable and I chose this one because it wasn't too expensive but still had all the features I needed. This camera quickly replaced (replaced is such a harsh word) my 210 but only because it is so easy to take everywhere. The 210 will always have a special place in my heart.

Soon after followed the Instax Mini 8 in the beginning of 2013. Why? Because it was new, simple as that. Although it was a down grade from my mini 25 I had to have it and who could resist the beautiful pastel colours, especially that blue? Of all my Instax cameras this is probably the one I use most. Not because of the picture quality (because to be honest the photos from this camera are just not as good as the others) but because it is the cheapest camera to buy so if I lost it or broke it then it would be easy to replace. I bought two more of these cameras, in white and yellow, to give to my friends as gifts and they love them too.

The newest member of my Instax family is the Instax mini 90. I've only had this baby for a few months. This one was sooo expensive and I justified buying it because it has features that my other Instax cameras don't have. It's so stylish and modern. If only my 210 had the same styling. This Instax mini has a built in macro mode (so there is no need for extra attachable lenses), various shooting modes, up to 10 second bulb mode, the ability to turn off the flash completely (something the other cameras lack) and a timer function. It's a pretty impressive little package and the photos turn out great.

If anyone would like individual reviews on the cameras or comparison reviews I'd be glad to do so. Just  leave a comment.

Do you have an instax camera? What do you think of it?

Valentines Nails 2014

I have thought long and hard for weeks about how I would be doing my nails for valentines day (even though I don't have myself a valentine).

I'm a big fan of stamping when it comes to decorating my nails. I'm not perfect at stamping my nails but it is way better than I could do free hand.

I decided on red nails with black heart and the word love. This is how it turned out:

I hadn't cleaned them up yet when I took this photo so forgive me for that.

What do you think?
If you have any questions please leave a comment :)

Let's Start!

Welcome to my blog! Yay I'm so excited.

I've started this blog mainly to talk about and share my project of taking at least 1 instax photo every day but also to share some the other interests or obsessions I happen to have along the way.

Photography is a big thing to me. I absolutely love it. I've never taken a photography course and I am not a professional by any means but I love it none the less.
A few years ago I discovered Fujifilm Instax cameras when I was searching for a polaroid camera. For those who don't know what instax cameras are, they are instant film cameras which mean that the photo prints right out the top of the camera when you take the photo. (Yeah, it's cool I know). From the moment that my first instax camera arrived in the mail I fell in love with it! And since that day I have bought 3 more. I admit that I may be overly obsessed with them but I just can't help it.

So at the beginning of this year I decided that I would really put them to use and take a photo every day. So far I'm doing well. I have taken 1 every single day. Some are amazing and others are not so great but I learn from my mistakes.

Here are my photos from January all set out in calendar form:

So far this is a really great start to the year. If you have any questions please feel free to leave a comment :)

I look forward to our adventure into 2014
